Rare Video Games & Collectibles on eBay: Vectrex Light Pen & 3-D Imager, StarFox Competition Cart, Sexy Nintendo Poster?

Here’s a bunch of retro gaming awesomeness that I’m watching on eBay!  Talk about some great potential additions to the collection.  I just wish I (a) could afford it all and (b) had room for it.  Maybe you’ll find something for a little vintage holiday shopping or just be like me and drool over your keyboard.  Happy holidays!

Vectrex 3D Imager – Original 80’s Rare Retro GCE MB VGC I happen to have one of these.  I honestly believe it’s 3-D technology is better than the Master System’s 3D glasses and the Virtual Boy.  It’s super rare, so it’ll be going for a pretty penny.

Rare Video Games & Collectibles on eBay: New Complete Myriad 6 in 1 (Caltron) on eBay!

Myriad 6 in 1 New & Factory Sealed! VGA 70 NES Nintendo If this is really a new copy of the Myriad 6 in 1, that’s a fantastic find!  Rather than simply asking $9,999 USD I really wish the seller “backguard” would put it on auction so we could see how much it’s really worth.

eBay seller “thethingsifind” always has cool Nintendo stuff up for sale.  Here are a few things I hadn’t seen before.  I’m not sure if the Mario mask is awesome or just creepy.  Check out these items and the rest of the stuff he has listed:

Rare Video Game Hunting: SNES Triax Turbo 360 Controller, Game Boy Colorizer, etc

Here’s the loot I pulled in from video game hunting at a local flea market the weekend of October 24.  The lot of boxed Atari games was a good find.  Plus, it was great to find a couple copies of Star Wars Battlefront II, some N64 GameSharks, and some great NES games (2x Ice Climbers!).

However, what I’m really excited about here is my new Triax Turbo Touch 360 controller for the SNES Super Nintendo!  This thing is simply hilarious.  Rather than a traditional d-pad, it used a pressure sensitive touch system that was supposed to be able to detect movement anywhere.  Naturally for such an early version of this technology, it was a huge failure.  What’s super ironic here is that Apple not only seems to have borrowed this technology for their iPod click-wheel, but they also seem to have cloned Turbo Touch 360 commercials for their I’m-an-Apple…PC-is-a-lame-o commercials.  Check out this video to see what I mean:

By the way, this Turbo Touch 360 is going into my collection.  They’re pretty cheap to pick up on eBay…or here are some Triax Turbo Touch 360 Super Nintendo SNES Controllers on Amazon starting at $9.00 USD.  Nothing like owning a little piece of retro Super Nintendo history. 🙂

Brainboy-Colorizer-Game-BoyAlso of interest is a “Brainboy Colorizer” by Pelican.  Apparently this rad little piece of plastic is supposed to add color to black & white games as well has having the ability to back up the saves of your favorite Game Boy games!  I love finding weird little accessories like this…plus I’m always amazed that after 15 years of sitting in someone’s garage or attic that I can bring them home and get them to work first try.

COMPLETE SEGA GAME GEAR COLLECTION – 232+ GAMES I find it hard to imagine that this collection is worth anything near the asking price.  After all Sega Game Gear stuff is…well…generally worthless.  However, one man’s junk is another man’s $4100.01 USD…

Watara Supervision system with 17 factory sealed games Similarly quite expensive.  However, this is quite a set if you’re a Watara-Supervision-loving-Game-Boy-hater.

RARE LIMITED MOUNTAIN DEW MT DEW EDITION MICROSOFT XBOX It may be rare, but it seems no one is willing to pay much for lime green Xbox.  (Sold for $87.09 USD including s/h on October 30, 2009.)

And not on eBay, but very cool for collectors with money to blow:

Celebrating Pac-Man’s 30th birthday, Namco seems to have teamed with Zippo to produce these fantastic retro video game limited edition zippos.  Unfortunately, they cost about $90 USD each.
